CWP Class


The classes for a SC concealed weapon permit are held seven days a week by registration. The class is available every day so you can choose a day that best works for you. The cost of the class is $100.00 per student. We do offer discounts for more than one student at time of registration and group rates. The class consists of a gun safety course with a section on SC law and a written test. Following the classroom portion a 50 round course of fire is conducted on an outdoor shooting range.

CWP Class Requirements


The class consists of 8 hours of class work, gun safety, testing, and shooting time on the range.


A SLED application packet will be provided to you at the time of your deposit. We will fill out all paperwork in the packet during class so please bring it with you.


The SLED packet contains the CWP application, training certificate, 2 fingerprint cards, and a checklist.


After successful completion of the course you must send your completed packet to SLED with a check for $50.00 payable to SLED. (for permit fee and background check.)


Equipment needed for class:


A safe and functioning handgun

A holster and belt (if needed) that secures safely to your side

50 rounds of ammunition in the caliber of your gun

Hearing and eye protection for the range


Handguns and ammo are available for use for an additional cost of the ammo.


No loaded firearms in class. Lock all firearms and ammo in your glovebox/center console before class. You will be instructed when to bring your unloaded firearm into class. All firearms will be inspected prior to use to ensure they are safe and function properly
